The boys had been to the Health Clinic and Face to Face and had collected a lunch bag full of condoms in various colors and sizes. One minute they had been riding their bikes acting out Tom Sawyer on the river and the next minute they were having a spontaneous condom party.
A couple of neighborhood girls showed up and they joined in. How delightful! Nothing better than a house full of teenagers! Kristie’s libertarian, laissez faire stance helped her through the evening. She held back saying anything and let them play.
Soon they were blowing them up like balloons, filling them up with water, throwing them over the railing above the street onto passing cars below, wearing them on their heads as a ghoulish mask, one girl even put two Magnum sized condoms on her legs like nylon stockings. One of the more outlandish boys put a blue condom on his arm and dangled it in front of himself as if it was a giant blue penis and began singing “Hare Krishna” as he danced around.
It was all very amusing. “At least they’re playing with them… getting comfortable with them… Maybe they’ll actually use them whenever they become sexually active?” Kristie thought to herself justifying her tolerance of behavior that some other adult might put a stop to immediately.
Boys! Humph! Some might think this was a misuse of a product that could do some good. Kristie thought it was a fun way to experience something that could end up saving their lives. She joked around with them finally saying, “Always wear a condom…whatever you do.”
Just then the door bell rang and the pizza was delivered. The kids settled down to eating and playing video games. She noticed that when the door bell rang, they all took a more serious attitude, straightened up, and stuffed some of the remaining condoms into their pockets.
She hoped that in the privacy of their own rooms, they would practice on the whole purpose of the product. She sincerely hoped they would all be safe. She made it clear to her kids that condoms were available in the bathroom cupboard. She didn’t think they were sexually active yet, but she knew the day was coming soon. She bought a gross of condoms from Costco. Her kids became known for supplying condoms to whoever was in need of one.
Keep it safe.
