Everything wasn’t all roses in this free for all, rampant dating, screwing, and new found sexual freedom in the Age of Aquarius. There were times when she wished she could have gotten out of certain situations.
Like the guy she went to the drive in movies with who had a penchant for biting too hard. Her neck and her nipples were taking a beating, but she mounted him anyway. She straddled him in the front seat, her butt pressed up against the steering wheel. The movie was boring. He was boring. There was no connection, but the sex was expected. So, she did it like an actress playing a part. Anything to get out of there.
Then there was another guy – skinny, white, greasy blond who took her to Smorgy’s all you can eat and brought her home to his sparse apartment with dirty sheets and no pillow cases. She actually liked this guy, but not a s a lover… more like a friendly janitor that you just flirted with and no expectations.
The real disappointment was the guy she had fantasized about for months. When they finally hooked up on a moonless night in the middle of the desert at a deserted camp site, she felt nothing but fear and disgust. When it was over and he delivered her home, she quickly ran in to take a hot shower and wash away her mistaken fantasy.
There were others – the rock musicians who got her drunk, beat her up, tried to rape her, and then ended up stealing all the money she had in her purse.
The Persian prince who chased her around the motel room with a giant erection pleading and whining for sex… She passed him off to her then best friend who also got chased around the motel room.
The final wake up call was the skinny red haired hippie who actually threw up after they had sex. She thought that this would definitely be a one night stand… but it turned into a three year ball and chain.
There were plenty of fun times where the adventure of it all burned in her memory. She got out of the game just in time without herpes, syphilis, the clap, or AIDS. She was glad she had her years of wildness. They came before she found her true love. In her fantasies she could relive all the great times she had had. And the bad times? Sometimes you just had to say, “Whatever… and leave it at that.”
