Grad Night

Oh yeah!  This was going to be FUN!  The school provided  luxury buses for the largest graduating class in the US that year.  After the graduation ceremony, schools from all over southern California were going to converge on Disneyland.  Everyone was paired up.  No one wanted to be alone on a night like tonight.

On the two hour trip down, everyone was excited.  There was lots of talking, singing, joking around…. Kristie  had been invited by her current “Beau.”  She had attended the graduation.  Gawd!  It had been long, literally thousands of names called to receive their diplomas.   But now they were on their way!  Her plan of dating a senior was working out quite nicely.

They felt like an old married couple compared to the teenage angst that was going on around them.  They had been dating for about six months and had already done the deed.  They didn’t feel the need to be all gooey eyed and swapping spit, but many of the others in the back of the bus were making out like crazy.

When they got to Disneyland, it was almost midnight.  Cool!  They would be there all night!  As soon as they unloaded the buses, they hit the rides.  They wanted to go over to Tom Sawyer’s Island, but that was the one area that was closed off for the night.  They tried to sneak across the suspended bridge, but a security guard chased them away.

The whole night was a whirl of rides and excitement.  They noticed several men in military service uniforms: Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines.  It was the time of the Vietnam War and many of  their graduating classmates were headed in that direction.  The newly uniformed young men were accompanying their girlfriends on this special night.  She had to admit, even though she was a peace freak,  she did love a man in uniform.

By 6:00 AM, they were being loaded back on the buses  for the drive home.  It was getting light outside, but the driver kept the lights off inside the bus and the kids drew the shades.  What followed was two hours of heavy breathing, foggy windows, and some very sexually frustrated young men and women.

Kristie and Beau made out a little, but they were content to just sit and hold hands, dozing off every now and then.  She thought it was funny.  This was the first time they had actually “slept together.”

They heard all sorts of desperate sounds coming from the others, moaning, gasping, snoring, farting… Then one novice called out in his best Gomer Pyle voice, “Go-ah-ah-ly!  You shore do wear some nice brassieres!”  The whole bus cracked up laughing.  Happy Graduation!
